Hello. I’m a freelance web content writer and editor. I create concise, accessible copy in plain English. Nice to meet you.

My life story

Don’t worry, I’ll keep it brief and to the point (us web copywriters are good like that).

I was born in Oxford in 1980 and grew up in Knighton, Powys from the age of four. Despite its rolling green hills and fresh air, mid Wales couldn’t stop me from heading for the bright city lights when I hit 18, spending four years studying at the University of Liverpool.

My time as a student got off to a stuttery start with a few months on the architecture degree course. This was followed by three fabulous years studying mechanical engineering under the guidance of my superb tutor, Dr John Sproston.

Following graduation in 2002, I spent nearly a year in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire while debating my future. In 2003, I ended up heading for London and found a place on Edelman’s graduate training scheme. Having had my fill of the PR world, I moved on to Balfour Beatty’s corporate communications team in 2005.

At about the same time, I got involved with the Marylebone Mountaineering Club (MMC), which involved driving for many hours at the weekend to hike in ‘poor conditions’, whilst having a great time. I took up climbing and spent a stint as the club’s meets secretary.

It was while climbing that I met my boyfriend, Chris, in February 2007 in Portland on England’s south coast. In the August, he suggested moving to Spain and I decided there was nothing to lose. I came to Mallorca in April 2008 and set up as a freelance web copywriter.

So there you have it, my life story in a nutshell. If you want to know anything else (cor, you’re nosey), get in touch.
