Business development on the eDreams ODIGEO website

eDreams ODIGEO

Direct client:

eDreams ODIGEO (Spain, 2013)

The brief:

Formed in 2011, ODIGEO (as it was known at the time) is Europe’s leading online travel group (and number five globally). It owns the eDreams, GoVoyages, Opodo and Travellink brands, serving more than 14 million customers in 28 countries every year.

The company was working on a new website, to be available in English only. It needed to provide corporate information for a target audience that included investors, shareholders, press, job seekers and other stakeholders.

ODIGEO had already started the build process and written the text, which needed editing and rewriting for consistency in style and tone of voice, while keeping to the design’s limitations.

What I did:

  • Communicated with the client in Spanish and worked from English and Spanish source materials.
  • Reviewed and developed the sitemap after identifying possible improvements and content gaps.
  • Edited, rewrote where needed and formatted the copy in ODIGEO’s corporate style, which specified American English spelling.
  • Produced ‘web friendly’ copy that was accessible, usable and optimised for both a global audience and search engines.
